CloudDrive2 AList RaiDrive cloud-mount media scraping
Cloud-mount media scraping
First use tools such as CloudDrive2, RaiDrive or AList to map cloud media as a network drive. Then select the mapped drive path in MDC to scan and organize the media and its metadata.

Scrape a cloud-mounted media library
- 01
Map the media as a network drive
Use CloudDrive2 or RaiDrive to map the cloud media, including AList media, as a Windows network drive. Confirm the mapped drive appears under Network locations and run MDC from a local disk.
- 02
Keep STRM and metadata output local
Select the mounted directory as MDC's scrape source, choose Create STRM files as the organization mode, and place the output directory on a local disk.
- 03
Test a small folder
Check that MDC can read the mount, match titles, create STRM files and write metadata locally before processing the full library.
CloudDrive2, AList and RaiDrive roles
CloudDrive2 and RaiDrive can map cloud media as a network drive. MDC uses the mapped drive path to fetch metadata and posters and create STRM output.
Mount and storage considerations
The cloud-mount guide recommends a Windows network drive, a local MDC installation, and local STRM and metadata output to avoid cloud writes and provider throttling.
Common questions
- Can I use a read-only cloud mount?
- Yes. Use Create STRM files and save the STRM files, metadata and artwork to a local output directory. The source mount is read-only; verify a small sample before a batch run.
